Store vacancies have fallen for the fifth consecutive quarter, according to the latest BRC-LDC Vacancy Monitor. Our latest research in partnership with the BRC found that the overall GB vacancy rate improved to 13.8% in Q4 2022, a 0.1% improvement on Q3 and a 0.6% improvement on Q4 2021. LDC commercial director Lucy Stainton said: “With vacancy rates being such a good barometer of the overall health of the physical retail and leisure landscape, it’s really positive to see the number of empty units at a Great Britain level continuing to fall since they peaked mid-pandemic.”
